What will it cost to make this room mine?

Give the planner your room and your budget. It answers with a short list of upgrades that need no paint and no drill, each with a price, added up against what you can spend.

The plan on the left is a sample, not a real room. The planner is free and asks for no signup.

How does a plan get made?

1. Describe the room

Say how big it is and what you are not allowed to change: the walls, the floor, the holes. That is the line the plan stays behind.

2. Set the budget

Tell it how much you can spend. Every pick is priced, and the total is kept under the number you gave.

3. Read the plan

You get a short list of upgrades, one price each, with a note on whether it is safe for your deposit.

Next to the planner, a library.

Short, practical articles for when you want to know how a thing is done before you stick it to a wall.

  • Walls you can’t paint

Colour and pattern that peels off clean

  • Holes you can’t drill

What holds a frame, a shelf or a curtain rod with no screw

  • Keeping your deposit

What to photograph, what to leave alone, what to put back

  • A small budget, a big change

Low-cost fixes that do the most for a room

What should a good plan leave alone?

Paint

No pick needs a roller. Colour comes from things that come off again.

Drills

Nothing that asks for a screw in the wall, or a hole you would have to explain.

Deposit

One test for every pick: can you hand this room back as you found it?

Free to use. So who pays?

Not you. The planner and the articles are free, with no signup. The site earns in two ways: display ads from Google AdSense, in slots marked as ads on articles and the homepage, and a commission from Amazon Associates when you buy through a link in an article product box or a planner pick.

The page on the right is a sample, so you can see how an ad and a product box are marked.
